5 Star rated comprehensive Van Insurance

Our comprehensive cover has Defaqto's highest 5 Star rating.

Find the right cover to protect your fleet of vans

If your business runs more than one van, fleet van insurance can make your life much easier and can reduce what you pay for your insurance overall.

Our multi van insurance isn’t traditional fleet insurance, but some of our customers choose it for their business instead, as each van added to the policy gets its own discount.

If you have up to seven vans, you can add them to your policy online. If you need to insure more than that, give our friendly team a call to discuss. And you can insure a mix of personal and business vehicles on the same policy if that’s what you need.

Our policy also takes the hassle out of remembering your vehicles’ renewal dates as they’ll all renew at the same time.

Here are a few important things to bear in mind:

  • The policy is in the name of an individual rather than the name of the company
  • You need to tell us who will be driving each van – unlike a regular fleet policy you can’t let all your employees drive without giving us their details first
  • Each vehicle earns its own No Claims Bonus
  • Pick and choose from our upgrades to tailor the cover for each vehicle

What cover do I need?

You have four types of cover to choose from:

  1. Social
  2. Social and Commuting
  3. Own Goods
  4. Carriage of goods for hire and reward

Depending on the nature of your business, you’re most likely to need the Own Goods category, or possibly Carriage of goods for hire and reward – but here’s an overview of the four options so you can decide:

This is only suitable if you’re using your vans for personal trips and not for commuting. If you use a van for leisure activities that need a bit more space for equipment – like fishing or surfing, for example – this category of cover is ideal.

Social and Commuting

Need to use your vans for travelling to work and leisure trips? You’ll need Social and Commuting cover, which means you’ll be covered to travel to a single place of work as well as using your vans for personal trips.

Own Goods

If your van fleet is used for business purposes, Own Goods is the category for you. Builders, plumbers and carpenters are all examples of tradesmen who might need this category.

If you need to transport tools and stock, you may need our Vehicle Contents Cover policy upgrade (formerly known as Goods and Tools). This higher level of insurance specifically covers the contents of your van, such as your tools, if they’re damaged or stolen.

Carriage of goods for hire and reward

If you use your vans to deliver third-party goods, you’ll need Carriage of goods for hire and reward. This is perfect for couriers or furniture removers who earn money by using their van for deliveries of third-party goods.

Levels of Admiral Fleet Van Insurance cover

Once you’ve chosen the category you need, you’ll need to decide what level of cover you want:

  • Comprehensive
  • Third Party, Fire & Theft
  • Third Party Only

This is the highest level of cover. It includes Third Party, Fire & Theft and pays out for van repairs or a replacement if it’s damaged maliciously or in an accident.

If you feel like you don’t need Comprehensive cover, Third Party, Fire & Theft or Third Party Only are other options that might suit.

Third Party, Fire & Theft

Third Party, Fire & Theft protects your van from damage caused by fire or theft only – it won’t pay out if your van's damaged in another way such as a crash. If you're involved in an incident, however, Admiral will pay out to the other driver.

Third Party Only

This is the minimum level of cover required by law and protects you if you damage someone's property or injure them while driving. Third Party Only cover also protects any passengers if they’re injured in your van, but it won’t pay out if your van’s stolen or damaged in a fire.
