Admiral started out in 1993 with the aim of offering lower insurance prices to more people, without compromising on the quality of our service or products.
You may know us as a car & home insurer but we offer a lot more. We can cover your holidays, vans and now we offer Personal Loans and Car Finance. Admiral is there to make sure you're covered every step of the way.
What we're all about
From humble beginnings in Cardiff - Admiral launched with just 57 staff members and no customers - to offices in seven countries and more than 7,000 staff and four million customers, it's fair to say Admiral has changed over the years.
But the one thing that hasn’t changed is our ethos: “People who like what they do, do it better.” Admiral’s founder, Henry Engelhard, said that, and we truly believe happy staff work harder, give better customer service and are happy to go above and beyond to do the best by our policyholders.
The great thing about Admiral MultiCar is its flexibility, so the whole family can save time and money. As long as the cars you’re insuring belong to immediate family members, they don't even have to be registered to the same address. Everyone can benefit with Admiral MultiCar.
This positive approach throughout the business pays off in many ways and our bulging award cabinet is just one of them.
We are the only company to have been named one of the Best Companies To Work For every year since 2001, and this year (2018) we came 3rd.
We’re delighted to have also scooped:
- Great Place to Work Best Workplaces
- Great Places to Work in Europe
- Nova Scotia's Top Employers
- Virginia Business Best Places to Work
- Britain's Most Admired Companies
Head over to the Admiral Group website for a full list of our awards. .
It's not just our approach to staff satisfaction which has won us awards, our dedication to great customer service and products our customers actually want has won us some too.
For five years running, we’ve won Best Car Insurance Provider in the Personal Finance Awards.
Why do we love this award? Because they’re public votes - the people who matter most when it comes to getting a true reflection of what to expect from our service.
Specialising in insurance is about more than just getting to know one product and sticking to it. At Admiral we make it our business to specialise in knowing what our customers want and adapting our products to suit their needs.
This knowledge helped us to become the UK's first multi car insurance provider because we know savings are super important for people with more than one car to insure.
If you have more than one car at home - or even at different addresses if they belong to immediate family - you can insure them all on one policy and get a MultiCar discount.
Not only can we save you money, but we can help give you some time back. With MultiCar, you don’t need to remember the renewal date for every car; we combine them so you only have one – neat, huh?
You don’t have to insure all the cars at once either, simply start the policy with one car we’ll add the others when their renewal is due. .
We’ve been insuring Britain's motorists for over 20 years. Whether it's a SingleCar policy, MultiCar or Classic Car cover we have spent more than two decades making sure we know car insurance inside and out.
But we were never going to put our feet up after becoming experts in car insurance, which is why we launched Admiral Home Insurance
You can choose buildings or contents insurance and select one of three levels of cover depending on your home insurance needs.
And that’s not all, we also offer:
- Black box insurance
- Pet Insurance
- Motorbike cover
- Travel Insurance
- Car Warranty
- Gap cover
- Car Finance
- Personal Loans
Did we mention we like to stay innovative? In July 2017 we launched the brand new MultiCover Insurance, designed for people who want just one cover for their home and car: one renewal date, zero hassle.
Every Admiral employee is a shareholder which means everyone who works here wants to see the company perform as well as possible.
Any of our staff members will tell you no two days are the same - whether it's talking to an interesting customer or taking part in a lunchtime table-tennis tournament - life as an Admiral employee is rarely dull. .
