What’s included in Admiral Breakdown Cover?

No matter which level of cover you choose, the following benefits are included as standard when you choose Admiral as your breakdown provider:

Named Drivers

We cover the car shown on your Admiral policy, whether it's you driving or any of the named drivers on your policy.

Message Service

Don't worry if you're late for a meeting or you need to let someone know you're running late. We're always happy to pass on a message or two for you.

Caravan and Trailer Cover

We also recover caravans and trailers (up to 23 feet) when attached to your vehicle.

Roadside Assistance

One hour of the recovery operator’s time at the roadside to repair your car

Lost or broken keys

If you lose, break or lock your vehicle keys within your vehicle, we’ll recover you to the vehicle recovery operator's base or an alternative destination of your choice if closer.

Misfuel Assist

If you put the wrong fuel in your car we’ll pay for a recovery operator to flush and drain your fuel tank at the roadside or to transport your car and passengers to the recovery operator’s base to carry out the work

Alternative Transport and Overnight Accommodation

We will reimburse up to £500 towards a hire car and up to £150 per person for B&B costs (maximum of £600 per incident) if you breakdown over 20 miles away from your home and your vehicle can’t be repaired the same working day (receipts needed).

European Breakdown Cover

This cover includes all the same benefits as our National Plus Cover with the addition of European assistance.

If you need European assistance call us on 0044 1206 714 344 and we will send help to you within the territorial limits of Europe.

We’ll cover the callout fees and mileage charges needed to repair or assist with your car. If it can’t be fixed within 48 hours or by your departure date, we’ll arrange for you, your car and passengers to be transported to your home address.

Alternative Transport Abroad

If you breakdown in Europe, we’ll pay up to £1,000 towards an alternative car hire up to a 1.6ltr so you can continue your trip while your car’s un-roadworthy

Emergency Overnight Accommodation

If your car can’t be repaired in the same working day and you can’t get to your pre-booked accommodation, we’ll pay up to £150 per person for one night towards overnight accommodation and breakfast – up to a maximum of £600 per incident.

How do I buy it?

How the Breakdown service works

Once you've added Admiral Breakdown Cover to your policy it couldn't be easier to use. When you call for breakdown assistance you will be asked for:

  • Your insurance policy number
  • Your registration, make and model of car
  • Your location so you can be found
  • Your phone number to keep you informed
    We need this number to call or text you who will be attending your incident and how long they'll be.
