We know that shopping for insurance is a hassle. Renewals always seem to come around sooner than expected – and sometimes at the same time!
So, wouldn't it be easier if you could look after your car and home together?
MultiCover saves you time and effort. To find out how, read more about our MultiCover Insurance and how we can make looking after your policies easier.
What is MultiCover insurance?
MultiCover lets you protect what matters in one place. That means you can insure your car, van, home or a property you let (if you’re a landlord) together.
Instead of shopping around and looking after different policies, we give you one policy and one renewal date to remember.
Plus, you’ll get a MultiCover discount!
What’s covered?
With MultiCover, you can combine your policies, including your:
- cars
- home
- van
- up to five properties you rent out
You just need one of these to get started. You can add more to your policy later if you need to.
What are the benefits of MultiCover insurance?
Not only does MultiCover save you time and hassle, but you also get:
- a MultiCover discount
- one policy to manage
- one set of paperwork
- one renewal date
How do I get a MultiCover policy?
You can get a MultiCover policy online if you’re combining your car, van and home insurance.
If you’re insuring more than one home or multiple properties you let, you'll need to call us so we can sort it for you.
Follow these steps to get your MultiCover discount online:
- Choose what you want to cover with MultiCover
- Give us some details about what you want to cover
- Choose which level of cover you want, plus any add-ons
- You can do this in MyAccount
You can find out more about getting a MultiCover policy on our MultiCover page.
What happens to my old policy when I switch to MultiCover?
You won’t have to cancel your old policy with us – we'll do it for you.
We’ll add your car or home insurance to your MultiCover policy and cancel your existing one when it’s time to renew.
Switching insurance from another company? Make sure you cancel your policy or it doesn’t automatically renew, so you don’t pay twice for your car or home insurance!

Want to know more about MultiCover? We answer some of your questions below.
Will I lose my no claims bonus on my car if I claim on my home insurance?
No, you'll keep your no claims bonus! If you need to claim on your home insurance, it won’t affect your car’s no claims bonus.
The same goes for any motor insurance claims. It only affects the vehicle or policyholder’s no claims bonus, not anyone else’s.
How long does the cover run for?
Your MultiCover policy lasts for 12 months. But you can still add extra cars, vans or homes during your policy if you need to.
The renewal dates of my existing policies are different – does that matter?
Whether it's your home, car or van that needs insuring first, it doesn't matter. With MultiCover, we give you an annual price for the one that needs to start first.
For example, if your car's due for renewal now but your home isn't due for several months, we'll add your car to your policy straight away and your home joins when it's due.
Your home insurance will run until your car insurance is up, and then we’ll give you one renewal date to remember.
If you’ve set your policy up to renew automatically, then there’s nothing to worry about! If you haven’t, keep an eye out for an email from us closer to the time to see what the next steps are.
How many cars and homes can I insure?
You can add one home and up to seven cars online.
If you need to add more cars, vans or properties, get in touch and we’ll sort it for you.
Do all cars or vans need to be registered at the same address?
No – immediate family members can have cars or vans registered at different addresses. They’ll still be covered and will also build up their own no claims bonus.
We count immediate family as:
- partners
- parents
- grandparents
- children
- grandchildren
- brothers and sisters
- in-law parents
- sisters or brothers-in-law
- daughters or sons-in-law
- adopted, half siblings, or stepfamily
I rent my house – can MultiCover work for me?
If you rent your home, you won't need to have buildings insurance as your landlord should have it.
But you could still combine your car or van with your home contents insurance to protect your belongings and your family’s possessions. Plus, you’ll get a MultiCover discount!
What happens when it’s time to review?
Before your MultiCover policy ends, we’ll send you a renewal price. You can choose to renew your MultiCover policy or renew your car and home separately.
This gives you the freedom to shop around if you’d like.
