What’s included in Admiral Breakdown Cover?

No matter which level of cover you choose, these benefits are included as standard when you choose Admiral as your breakdown provider:

Named Drivers

We cover the car shown on your Admiral policy, whether you or any of your named drivers are driving.

Message Service

Don't worry if you need to let someone know you're running late, we're always happy to pass on a message or two for you.

Caravan and Trailer Cover

We recover caravans and trailers (up to 23 feet) when attached to your vehicle.

Roadside Assistance

One hour of the recovery operator’s time at the roadside to repair your car.

Lost or broken keys

If you lose, break or lock your vehicle keys inside your vehicle, we’ll take you to the vehicle recovery operator's base or an alternative destination of your choice, if closer.

Misfuel Assist

Don’t worry if you put the wrong fuel in your car, we’ll pay for a recovery operator to flush and drain your fuel tank at the roadside or transport your car and passengers to their base to carry out the work.

Alternative Transport and Overnight Accommodation

We’ll reimburse up to £500 towards a hire car and up to £150 per person for B&B costs (maximum of £600 per incident) if you breakdown over 20 miles away from your home and your vehicle can’t be repaired the same working day (receipts needed).

European Breakdown Cover

Includes all the same benefits as our National Plus Cover but with added European assistance.

If you need European assistance call us on 0044 1206 714 344 and we’ll send help to you within the territorial limits of Europe.

We’ll cover the callout fees and mileage charges needed to repair or assist with your car. If it can’t be fixed within 48 hours, or by your departure date, we’ll arrange for you, your car and passengers to be taken to your home address.

Alternative Transport Abroad

If you break down in Europe, we’ll pay up to £1,000 towards an alternative car hire up to a 1.6l so you can continue your trip while your car’s unroadworthy.

Emergency Overnight Accommodation

If your car can’t be repaired in the same working day and you can’t get to your pre-booked accommodation, we’ll pay up to £150 per person for one night towards overnight accommodation and breakfast – up to a maximum of £600 per incident.

How the breakdown service works

Once you've added breakdown cover to your insurance, it couldn't be easier to use. When you call for breakdown assistance, you'll be asked for your:

  • Policy number
  • Car registration, make and model
  • Location
  • Phone number
    We need your number to tell you who's coming to you and how long they'll be.
