For car lovers everywhere there's nowhere better than a great British car show to indulge in your passion.

There really is something for everyone, whether you're a fan of the classics, a lover of kit cars or just want to see some speedy little numbers racing round the track, there's a car show for you somewhere in the UK.

We've trawled through lists and lists of them and come up with a list of five crackers, so take a look through our list for some car show inspiration for your next free weekend.

Footman James Bristol Classic Car Show

This is a car show for lovers of the classics, and features indoor displays by clubs as well as hundreds of classics outside the Bath and West Showground.

Last year the the Footman James show saw record numbers of attendees with at least 1,000 classic cars making their way through the hall and grounds in just one day.

Classic car enthusiasts will get the chance to ogle at cars ranging from £500 restoration projects through to £130,000 mint-condition investment purchases.

Donington Kit Car Show

The National Kit and Performance Car Show is held at the main exhibition centre at the Donington race circuit.

This is the ideal car show for anyone looking too see some racing action on the track courtesy of the Classic Sports Car Club.

On top of the racing events, attendees will be able to view exhibitions from kit car manufacturers and suppliers. What's more, if you drive a kit car you will get free access to the show and discount for your passengers.

Motorexpo

Motorexpo is one of the world's largest free-to-visit motoring events and displays the latest vehicles from world leaders in car manufacturing.

With shows in London, Toronto and New York, their event in Canary Wharf is one worth noting in the diary.

2014's show is due to be the biggest so far, and with manufacturers including Aston Martin, Jaguar and Porsche having had displays at previous events, Motorexpo is worth a visit if you'd like to spend an afternoon surrounded by some of the most beautiful new cars around.

Motorsport at the Palace

A motoring event with a social conscience isn't something you hear every day but it's what you get if you choose to buy tickets to Motorsport at the Palace.

The event has raised over £13,500 for local charities and bills itself as more of a family day out than just your run-of-the-mill car show.

With plenty of motorsports, street sprints - by both car and motorcycle - and rides and inflatables for kids there is something for everyone at this car show.

Spectators will also be able to get up close and personal with the cars and their drivers in the paddock, before they take to the track.

Beaulieu Custom and Hot Rod Festival

Custom cars and motorcycles along with live music and entertainment, Beaulieu serves up something the whole family can enjoy.

All custom cars and motorcycles are invited to take part in a drive-in at the event and over 500 usually join in.

This show is a great opportunity to see something a little bit different and out of the ordinary and there will also be a chance to purchase some memorabilia and see some great live music.
