The remake of the classic 1960s film, The Italian Job is released to British audiences on 12th September. And to mark the event direct car insurer, Admiral is offering cheaper insurance for the new Mini Cooper by lowering the recommended insurance group for the whole of September.

Between 2nd and 30th of September, Admiral will insure the Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper Auto at group 7 instead of 8 and the Mini Cooper S at group 13 instead of Group 14. It should mean lower premiums for any existing Mini owners and anyone tempted to buy one after seeing The Italian Job.

Admiral pricing and underwriting director, David Stevens, said, "The original version of The Italian Job is one of the most popular British films of all time, and did more for the image of the Mini than any movie has done for any car. We thought it would be nice to mark the release of the new version by offering anyone with a new Mini Cooper the chance of lower insurance."

Admiral has compared the cost of insuring these minis through itself, with the reduced group and two other insurers for three typical motorists.

The new version of The Italian Job is set in LA rather than Turin and stars Mark Wahlberg in the role made famous by Michael Caine. But it promises to be just as fun and as exciting as the original. David Stevens, continued, "I'm sure the new film will once again raise interest in the Mini and sales of the Mini Cooper, like the ones used in the film will rocket."
