Young drivers are best in Superminis for lower insurance

As a young person who wants to drive a stylish Supermini it can be difficult to find someone to insure you cheaply.

Direct car insurer, Admiral has looked at the cost of insuring the best Superminis for a young person with low no claims bonus, living in central London. Their research reveals that driving a Supermini needn't break the bank. The seven models that have made Admiral's list are among the best new cars for 2003 and all cost less than £10,000 brand new. They are; Hyundai Getz 1.3 Gsi, Nissan Micra 1.2 S, Seat Ibiza 1.2 12v, Skoda Fabia 1.4 Comfort, Vauxhall Corsa 1.2I 16v Club, Ford Fiesta 1.4 LX and the Mini One.

Admiral managing director, Jane Stone, said, "Young, urban professionals might not have the budget to pay for the lifestyle they want to lead. But in the right Supermini they can still afford a new car and won't have to compromise on style. We checked out the cost of insurance for someone who traditionally pays higher premiums if they chose one of these nippy little numbers."

Admiral's research shows the annual premium for all these cars is less than £700. On top of the lower running costs, this represents excellent value for money. Jane Stone continued, "As UK drivers are hit with extra costs from all sides, I think our research shows that it is still possible to drive economically. Even if you are a young, style-conscious and live in the city."
