Cardiff Brownies get creative thanks to a local insurer.
St Peters Brownie and Rainbow Guides received a donation from Cardiff
insurer Admiral. The money comes from a fund set up by Admiral's chief
executive, Henry Engelhardt, which provides financial support for staff
involved with local organisations.
The Brownies and Rainbows meet every Monday at St Peters Community Hall
on Bedford Street in Roath. The groups share their resources and used
the money from Admiral to buy art materials to fund their craft sessions,
which are held each week.
Jo Griffiths works as a training coach in Admirals Claims department.
A former St Peters Brownie, Jo was one of the first leaders when St Peters
Rainbows was established 12 years ago. She now helps out whenever needed,
and her five year old daughter Ellie, has recently joined the Rainbows.
Jo said, "The money from Admiral was a welcome boost to our craft
supplies. The girls really enjoy their weekly art sessions and they now
have plenty of materials to play with."
