It's basically an extended warranty to cover you once your manufacturer's warranty expires. If your car breaks down due to mechanical or electrical failure, car warranty covers the cost of replacing any insured parts, including labour.
Car Warranty policies usually run from one month to as many as five years - often people choose a 12 month policy and renew annually like with their car insurance.
Warranty Direct offers cover for any car up to 10-years-old as long as there's less than 100,000 miles on the clock. Including cover for used, new, performance and even prestige cars.
If your car is about to come to the end of its manufacturer warranty an extended warranty is a precaution against an unexpected repair bill which could potentially be very expensive.
Garages can charge as much as £200 an hour for labour and when you factor in the cost of new parts on top, those costs can soon mount up.
